Hi, Tim. We met last night and Richard and I looked at 3 of your videos quickly today (not the N. Orleans). I have seen many times the Spiral Jetty film (bought it for Oberlin and shown it often to my students), but I was glad to see the work in a recent year. And we were out of the country when Christo (whom we know) did hid park Gates, so it was nice to have glimpses. Your videos are excellent for “amateur” videos — well edited, enriched, and with good commentary. (We leave ours silent! You can see on YouTube 3 or 4 of mine, 1 or 2 by typing my name, and a couple with Muhammad Ali Star Fountain). I liked least the Olafur Eliasson, and not your fault — the works were not good actually (wasted money in my opinion). I wish you had commented on the trash-full barge that passed in front of one Waterfall near the end! A good comment on today’s state of affairs… Best,
Athena

Tim, Sorry it took me so long to view your three magnificent, incomparable films. I loved all three: the waterfalls, the New Orleans one, and the gates at Central Park. You are so incredibly talented. Your words cast a magic spell. I’m so impressed with your analysis of the art, the background music, and your sensitivity to the beauty created by the artist. Thanks for telling me about them. I enjoyed them to the nth degree. Please keep me posted on your future films. Sincerely, Karen

Right through to the last chord – well thought, elegantly said, interestingly reasoned, and beautifully shot.
Bravo

Tim!
First: your skill at this medium just gets better and better. Music overlay?! Outstanding!
Second: I’m beginning to think that you have a thing for these temporary installations. They leave a lot of room for alternatives.
Third: I love the parallels, connections, metaphors, the waterfall as a reflection of an alternate truth. (Does it make it an omen?) I love how you conclude that this installation echos the gigantic, craptastic state of false, fleeting prosperity and juxtapose that with the steady, solidness of the Path of Gold.
There’s a lot to digest for a gal like me, but I enjoyed watching another great video from you. (I need to pour myself a glass of wine and watch it a couple more times, I think.)
Again, bravo!
